The Camas Ridge Community School was named for the native camas lily, and is designed to honor the neighborhood’s wildlife, geography and community.

The Camas Ridge Newsletter is sent home with students in a printed version every Friday. A version of the newsletter in PDF format is also posted on the Camas Ridge web site on the

The deadline to submit items to be published in the newsletter is 4:00 pm every Tuesday afternoon. E-mail your newsletter submissions to Camas Ridge newsletter editor Chellae Barlev at
barlev_c@4j.lane.edu. If you don't have e-mail, submit them to Theresa Shelby in the school office by Tuesday.

Camas Ridge News E-mail List
This is an email list created by the Camas Ridge parent group to broadcast news from the school, teachers and staff, and parent volunteers and committee chairs about events happening at our school. This is a one-way list to transmit news broadcasts only, not a discussion group.

Information for the Camas Ridge Directory is gathered at the beginning of the school year. Nancy West enters the parent and student information in the database, and issues reports that graphic designer Tim Jordan uses to create the final published directory distributed in the fall.
It took longer during this first year of Camas Ridge to gather information for the 2009-10 Directory, which should be available by the beginning of December. The 2010-11 Directory should be available in October 2010.
To update your contact information in the directory, send it to Nancy West (
nlwest@comcast.net). Please provide address, phone, and email changes to both the main school office and the parent group. Remember, the office cannot forward your changes due to privacy and security rules, so you need to submit them to us directly. We are hoping to publish printed updates to contact information in the newsletter throughout the year.
